501. Understanding the transformational power of nature-based solutions to address climate change impacts — A series of Big ideas talks curated by NBS: 3:00pm – 4:30pm
Event time: 3:00pm – 4:30pm
Location: Education Center, Central Park Zoo, New York
Event organizer: Nature Based Solutions Initiative, University of Oxford
This event will focus on showcasing innovative solutions to protect from and adapt to climatic impacts whilst slowing further warming, supporting biodiversity, and securing ecosystem services (ie. sustainable development co-benefits). After a global overview of the role of NBS in enabling human adaptation, a series of short talks will provide a forum to learn about how working with nature is transforming people’s lives in the face of climate change. Then, through a structured panel discussion with the audience, we will explore challenges and opportunities around how we might take NbS for adaptation to scale.
