The land that we have come to rely on for natural resources, on which we have built vast cities, and which still contains many secrets and wonders of the world, also holds the key to reversing dangerous climate change.

Natural climate solutions not only work as a carbon sink and storage, they help people and nature adapt to climate change. They are familiar, cheap, scalable, and crucially, they are available now, everywhere on the planet. In some cases, they will make money. More and more leaders are standing up for land-based solutions, which are available to us now. These pathways can act as Nature’s compliment as we make the transition to a zero-emission economy. It’s a tall order, but together we can craft a roadmap. By quantifying and comparing the mitigation potential across ecosystems, we can paint a comprehensive picture of nature’s full power and how we can—and need to all get involved.
