15:30 - 16:30
Reciprocal relations with community, deep connection with our planet, and guardianship of traditional lands and waters are forms of ancestral knowledge transmitted through Indigenous cultures. At the same time conservation organizations like WCS are supporting Indigenous rights, spirit forests, and land tenure in different places. This event will exchange on experiences from the Wayfinders Circle and WCS on working with Indigenous Territories and practices to strengthen governance systems, prevention of biodiversity loss, and protect high integrity and other types of forests. It will look at how the conservation sector can learn from the Wayfinders Circle in incorporating customary practices while co-designing solutions with Indigenous Peoples for our planet.
