Stewardship Summit 2024

Held at the height of the 2023 AGM season, asset owners at the inaugural ESG Investor Stewardship Summit debated whether a gap had opened up with their asset managers on issues critical to the future of engagement and stewardship.

By the end of the voting season that gap looked more like a chasm, as asset owners investigated the reasons why such disparities had developed, centring on engagement with oil and gas giants, but with much wider implications across portfolios.

With regulators conducting on a wholesale review of the framework for stewardship in the UK, the Stewardship Summit 2024 will bring together leading practitioners and stakeholders, with the aim of establishing common ground through a series of informed panels and inspiring keynotes.

As COP28 accelerates the transition to a climate- and nature-positive economy, and UK institutional investors are increasingly expected to consider social factors, it’s more important than ever that asset owners and managers work together.
