Indigenous Economy & Just Resilience Breakthrough Workshop
Napo (Ecuador)
Sunday 19th January 2025 - Saturday 25th January 2025
Napo (Ecuador)
A select group of international leaders will participate in a Breakthrough Workshop on Indigenous Economy & Just Resilience this coming January in Ecuador.
The Indigenous Farming Association of the Napo Valley in Ecuador (Wiñak), Nature4Climate and Regions4, with the support of the Plataforma Amazonica, are hosting this experience focused on the indigenous economy in a tropical forest setting. The workshop aims to build consensus on the importance of supporting the ‘Indigenous Economy’ as essential to achieving a net-zero, nature-positive future that can adapt for just resilience to global climate change and biodiversity loss.
The workshop will be hosted locally by the indigenous enterprise Wiñak, a collective of several hundred Kichwa producers located in the Napo Province of Ecuador. Participants will include representatives from provincial governments, civil society organizations, the private sector, philanthropy, and indigenous communities from Mesoamerica, Peru, Brazil, and the Ecuadorian Amazon. They will come together to share their experiences in this immersive dialogue on the indigenous economy and just resilience.
