Event time: 9:00am — 10:00am
Location: Park Hub West, Convene, 101 Park Avenue
Event organizer: UN-REDD Programme

The Climate Action Summit calls for increased political will and concrete solutions to address the climate crisis. This UN-REDD event will show how forests are already significantly contributing to delivering a climate solution through REDD+ actions. Building on 10 years of wide-ranging work by the UN-REDD Programme and its 65 partner countries, the event will showcase forests as the leading front in nature-based climate solutions.

Participants will discuss the following key questions:
What do countries need to raise forest ambitions in NDCs and national development planning?
How can we increase financial flows and forge new investment pathways for countries to implement forest solutions to climate change and contribute to Agenda 2030?
What are innovative approaches that could help countries deliver on their commitments?

The event will demonstrate that protecting forests is a crucial response to the climate crisis – and that forest-based climate solutions are ready to be scaled up and replicated.

Topics will include countries receiving results-based payments, high forest low deforestation countries committed to protecting their forested landscapes, private sector investments into innovative instruments to reduce deforestation including deforestation-free supply chains, donors engaged in forest-based solutions, jurisdictional approaches, UNFCCC compliant carbon offsets, and indigenous peoples advancing transnational forest conservation efforts.
