There is no Nature Positive Economy Without an Indigenous Economy

15:00 - 16:00

This event highlights the crucial role Indigenous Peoples play in protecting the planet’s biodiversity and addressing climate change. Although they make up only 6% of the global population, Indigenous Peoples are the stewards of 80% of the world’s biodiversity. However, despite their significant contributions, they receive less than 1% of global climate funding.

This event seeks to address this imbalance by engaging corporate and financial professionals in a discussion about the untapped potential within Indigenous economies. Participants will delve into the principles of Indigenous economic models, which emphasise the harmony between nature and community rather than unchecked economic growth. The event will feature case studies and best practices, illustrating how Indigenous leadership can be integrated into business strategies to achieve both environmental sustainability and financial success.
