Annual Adaptation Forum 2024 by the Adaptation Committee
Bonn (Germany)
Monday 18th March 2024 - Tuesday 19th March 2024
18th Mar @ 00:00 - 19th Mar @ 23:59
During the recent Adaptation Committee meeting (AC24), the AC assessed at great length how to most effectively deliver on the vision of the Forum in a way that facilitates the collaboration and partnerships needed to advance adaptation. Given the key outcomes that are expected on the first global stocktake and the two-year Glasgow–Sharm el-Sheikh work programme on the global goal on adaptation at COP28/CMA5, as well as the time needed to robustly capture the outputs from all of the AC dialogues held during the four UNFCCC Regional Climate Weeks, the Adaptation Committee has decided to change the dates of the Adaptation Forum to take place from 18 to 19 March 2024 in conjunction with AC25.
These new dates allow the Adaptation Forum to better take into account the outcomes from COP28/CMA5, utilize the information from the regional climate weeks, and allow for greater engagement from AC members, observers, and a broader range of civil society engagement. The Adaptation Forum will also be an opportunity to highlight and celebrate ten years of work under this workstream.
