Financing Resilience, Investing in Nature

Mott MacDonald. 10 Fleet Place, London (UK)

Tuesday 24th June 2025
London (UK)

Lobelia, Pegasys and Mott MacDonald are co-hosting an event during LCAW, focused on how finance, technology, and data can help close the investment gap in climate resilience. We’re bringing together asset managers, impact investors, insurers, financial institutions, corporations, DFIs, and policymakers for a practical and forward-looking conversation.

As climate and nature-related risks intensify, there’s an urgent need for financial systems to adapt – not just to protect portfolios, but to drive a broader shift toward a resilient, sustainable future. Extreme weather, water stress, food insecurity, and biodiversity loss are already disrupting infrastructure, markets and supply chains globally. Integrating climate intelligence to inform decisions about where, in what, and with whom to invest, can help to align diverse interests, minimise risk exposure and optimise returns for investors, communities, and natural environments.

This 2-panel session will explore how systems thinking and climate intelligence can support smarter investment decisions. We’ll look at how finance can move from reactive risk management to proactive investment in adaptation, resilience, and nature-based solutions – areas offering long-term value but still largely underfunded.

Agenda (panelists to be announced shortly):
– Panel 1: Financing Resilience across Portfolios, Infrastructure and Value Chains (45min)
– Networking Session (25min)
– Panel 2: Nature-Positive finance: De-risking investment in agriculture, nature-based solutions, and ecosystem resilience (45min)
– Networking Session (55min)
