From Amazon to Australia: First Nations Leadership and the Path to COP31
Nature Hub Pavilion - COP30 Blue Zone, Belém (Brazil)
Saturday 15th November 2025 - Friday 14th November 2025
13:00 - 14:30 (BRT)
As COP30 unfolds in Brazil, the world’s attention is turning toward COP31 – expected to be hosted by Australia. This moment offers a powerful opportunity to connect the leadership, challenges and solutions shared by both regions. From the Amazon to Australia, Indigenous and First Nations peoples are on the frontlines of climate and nature protection. This event will explore how their leadership – supported by philanthropy – can accelerate a transition that ends fossil fuel expansion, accelerates renewable energy, halts deforestation and restores nature. By linking the Amazon and Australia, this session will chart a global pathway from COP30 to COP31 that keeps nature and justice at the heart of climate ambition.
