To achieve meaningful reductions in forest carbon emissions at the scale needed by 2030 requires expanding from stand-alone site-based REDD+ activities, which currently represent most of the Voluntary Carbon Market, into large-scale nationally led programs and intervention activities. This event will discuss the role governments can take to meet the challenges and opportunities to accelerating the scaling and transition of REDD+, focusing on technical, financial, regulatory and capacity needs around further developing REDD+ programs.
