Approximately 80% of global deforestation is caused by the expansion of land used for agriculture. To mitigate its own footprint, the French government released in 2018 a strategy to combat imported deforestation (SNDI), aiming, by 2030, to put an end to deforestation caused by importing unsustainable forest and agricultural products. This event will bring together key stakeholders from producer and consumer countries and to take stock on ongoing initiatives.
