Event time: 11:00am — 12:30pm
Location: Madison Hub South , Convene, 101 Park Avenue
Event organizer: The Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance – ORRAA

Our Ocean is changing faster today than at any time in the past 65 million years, with wide-ranging implications for coastal communities, infrastructure and biodiversity, and for the lives and livelihoods of billions of people, especially the poorest and most vulnerable.

There is an urgent need to better understand and mitigate ocean-derived risks, and to build resilience to them. The scale and complexity of the challenge require a true multisector approach.

The Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance is a multi-sector collaboration between governments, financial institutions, the insurance industry, environmental organizations and stakeholders from the Global South. Its purpose is to unlock and incentivize greater private investments and blended finance into coastal natural capital, developing innovative products that both address ocean risk and build resilience in the regions that need it most.

This event will present the ground-breaking thinking behind the Alliance and the pioneering work it intends to undertake.
