Building farmer friendly finance for nature-based regenerative and agroecological approaches: sharing experiences and accelerating action

Through discussion between farmers organisation, IPLC partners and representatives from key global finance mechanisms, the session aims to: 

• Further highlight the opportunities and needs for enhancing climate finance to shape existing and future climate finance, especially a dedicated farmer fund 

• Strengthen and build partnerships with donors, NGOs, and philanthropic foundations to support key reforms and specific fund development to accelerate climate finance directly to smallholder farmers. 

• Develop initial ideas for the FO-led fund design process for learning and input from IPLCs and other experiences – especially on governance, objectives, fiscal partners, distribution mechanisms, risks mitigation, safeguards, private sector engagement.
