  • Nature Tech Week will debut in the UK from March 25-28, bringing together 600 global leaders to explore digital solutions like AI, satellite data, and IoT for nature-positive growth, cost reduction, risk mitigation and compliance.
  • The week happens right after the news of the nature tech market expansion in 2024, with startups attracting around $2 billion in investments, and the rise of climate policies targeting deforestation and nature harmful activities.
  • Up to 50 world-class experts, including representatives from the Natural History Museum in London, Conservation International, the Financial Times, and the Landbanking Group will share insights on topics like MRV challenges, water-tech, and nature tech implementation for climate resilience.

Nature Tech Week will debut in the UK from March 25-28, bringing together a global community of 600 innovators, leaders, policymakers, and changemakers. Through interactive discussions and knowledge-sharing, participants will explore the latest digital solutions – including AI, satellite data, and IoT – that can mitigate environmental risks, reduce costs, and drive nature-positive growth and stewardship.

The inaugural week comes with news of the rapid expansion of the nature tech market in 2024, when startups in this segment attracted around $2 billion in investments, twice as much as six years ago.

“Nature Tech Week will be both a celebration of a steadily growing community and a direct response to the global threat of nature loss, which could cost the global economy up to$5 trillion in the coming years. Increasing market pressures from transparency and compliance are also helping to push businesses and financial institutions to move away from deforestation and harmful activities, making the role of new technologies even more crucial in rapidly adapting supply chains and creating nature-positive portfolios,” explains Lucy Almond, chair of Nature4Climate, one of the week’s hosts.

“The buzz around nature tech will only get louder as the community continues to expand and demand from businesses increases.”

During the week, participants will join three different events: the Nature Action Dialogues in Cambridge, organized by UNEP-WCMC; the Nature Tech Summit in London, organized by CE Events & Media in partnership with Nature4Climate and Nature Tech Collective; and the Nature Tech Unconference in London, hosted by the Nature Tech Collective and the London School of Economics (learn more about each of them below). About 30 nature tech companies will be featured in the program, including HSBC, Heineken, Bank of America, Tetra Pak and Nestle, with representatives from governments and the public sector also joining this effort.

“Nature tech has exploded in recent years, unlocking groundbreaking innovations that are transforming how we restore and protect the natural world. From AI-driven biodiversity monitoring to satellite-powered ecosystem insights, the impact of these technologies is nothing short of game-changing. That’s why we knew we had to be part of bringing the Nature Tech Summit to life – an event designed to showcase the most cutting-edge solutions and connect the people driving them forward. In the room, you’ll find industry leaders, investors, project developers and pioneering innovators shaping the next era of nature tech.”  Hayley Cooper, CEO, CE Events & Media

Hot Topics

The week will count with insights from more than 70 world-class experts, including Gareth Thomas, head of research at the Natural History Museum in London; Ali Swanson, Conservation International’s director of nature tech and innovation; Marie Kemplay, Financial Times’ deputy editor of sustainable views; and Martin Stuchtey, founder of the Landbank Group. Among the hot topics to be addressed are MRV (Measurement, Reporting & Verification) challenges and how companies can assess and report multiple environmental indicators (carbon, water, soil, biodiversity) across their value chain. Additionally, the “water-tech” front – with discussions on precise irrigation, wastewater recycling, and its role in climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and combating desertification – will be a key focus.

Gilad Goren, executive director of the Nature Tech Collective, also expects that the speakers’ keynotes will address modeling, material change, monetization, and financing for the practical implementation of nature tech as a climate resilience tool in a fast-evolving geopolitical context.

“Though it seems the world is regressing on its climate commitments, we are confident in the continued growth of nature tech as a catalyst for climate resilience aspirations within both the private and public sectors,” says Goren. “As hundreds of stakeholders come together to exemplify their commitment to the nature-positive transition through collaboration, problem-solving, networking, and education, this year’s inaugural Nature Tech Week stands as a powerful demonstration of this continued momentum.”
