“There is very little doubt left that nature-based solutions need to be part of national climate action”

As the first week of the UN climate talk comes to a close, delegates are looking at all options available to stabilize the climate. One solution that is gaining traction is nature-based solutions. As WWF UK’s Head of Advocacy – Our Planet / 2020 Project, Bernadette Fischler says:

“There is very little doubt left that nature-based solutions need to be part of national climate action if countries are serious about avoiding climate breakdown. Our study shows it is perfectly possible to integrate nature into the NDCs as many countries, particularly in the South, are doing. But there is huge room for improvement. Governments need to step up and break down the silos between action on nature and on climate. There is still enough time to prepare and present enhanced and improved NDCs in 2020 – to secure a better future for both people and planet.”
