The American Forest Congress is a proud tradition that has influenced the direction of forest conservation and management in America for more than a century. Since the first American Forest Congress in 1882 to the most recent in 2022, these seminal events have led directly to major outcomes in the forestry sector, including the creation of the U.S. Forest Service, the establishment of the eastern National Forests, new community-based and collaborative approaches to forestry, and efforts to advance the leadership of women within the forest community.  

The 9th American Forest Congress will build on this legacy, providing forestry professionals and leaders an opportunity to gather with over 500 of their peers for three days to collaborate and identify transformative actions for the next century of forest stewardship.

Building on the strong foundation laid over the years by the Regional Climate Weeks and recognizing the evolving needs and new challenges of the climate agenda, the UNFCCC secretariat is introducing a new and enhanced platform in 2025 – the new Climate Weeks, dialogues for ambition and implementation.

This biannual meeting platform, led by the UNFCCC secretariat and aligned with the objectives of the Paris Agreement, will focus on accelerating the translation to action on the ground of decisions adopted under the intergovernmental process, and will build momentum towards COP30 by facilitating targeted inputs to future meetings.

In this format, the Climate Weeks will bring together representatives of Parties and non-Party stakeholders in a global space that will combine several planned UNFCCC mandated meetings, as well as policy and high-impact dialogues, offering a unique opportunity to link the intergovernmental process and the discussions that will feed into COP with the real needs of implementation, enabling the consolidation of activities to increase efficiency and impact. The Climate Weeks will be held twice a year in different regions, maintaining a global focus.

Over the course of this three-day symposium organized by Alan Organschi, a diverse array of leading thinkers and makers from the climate, ecosystem, and construction sciences, from industrial ecology and manufacturing, design and engineering, finance and policy will convene to examine, debate, and discuss the materials, means, methods, and potential benefits of a new regenerative paradigm for the building sector.

The Nature Action Dialogues convenes leaders from business, finance and conservation to collectively tackle one of the most urgent challenges of our time: halting and reversing nature loss.

The Nature Action Dialogues provide a unique platform for meaningful exchange, where innovative ideas and collaborative solutions catalyse private sector action.

The 2025 event will explore solutions to address the triple planetary crisis and the biodiversity, water, climate and health nexus. Attendees will benefit from expert-led workshops and networking opportunities enabling them to accelerate their ambition and action on nature.

The UN Biodiversity Conference, suspended earlier this year in Cali, Colombia, will reconvene from 25-27 February, 2025 in Rome, Italy, at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The bureau of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity today agreed to hold resumed sessions for COP 16 and the concurrent meetings of the Protocols to address agenda items left unresolved following the suspension of the meeting due to loss of quorum in the early hours of 2 November.

The 2025 UN Climate Change Conference (Conference of the Parties), better known as COP 30, is an annual global meeting where world leaders, scientists, non-governmental organizations and civil society representatives discuss actions to combat climate change. It is considered one of the world’s main events to address this topic.

Host – COP30 represents a historic opportunity for Brazil to reaffirm its leadership in negotiations on climate change and global sustainability. The event will allow the country to showcase its efforts in fields such as renewable energy, biofuels and low-carbon agriculture, and reiterate its historic role in multilateral processes such as Eco-92 and Rio+20. The event will be attended by heads of State, ministers, diplomats, UN representatives, scientists, business leaders, NGOs, activists, and other members of civil society from more than 190 countries.

The Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) are the basis for countries to achieve their climate goals and contribute to the Paris Agreement objectives. As the implementation of current climate pledges becomes increasingly important, coordination among the international climate community is, therefore, vital to keep ambition high and underline collective progress.

Throughout the years, the Global NDC Conference has become an international forum to discuss NDCs. It presents a space for strengthening networks, showcasing innovative ideas, building momentum, reflecting, and clarifying the NDC formulation and implementation processes that lead to ambitious climate policy and action. Our last three editions (in 2017, 2019 and 2023) have gathered more than 900 participants from 80+ countries.

The World Congress on Agroforestry is an international event that brings together different stakeholders in agroforestry to exchange on the advancement of research and practices in agroforestry systems, natural resource management, and climate change adaptation and mitigation for sustainable and resilient agro-ecosystems.

Under the main theme, Agroforestry for People, Planet Profit, the 6th World Congress on Agroforestry 2025 will take place in Kigali, Rwanda, from 20 – 24 October, 2025, will bring together leading experts to share their latest research, innovations, and practices in the field of agroforestry.

The IUCN World Conservation Congress is the largest gathering of nature conservation experts, leaders and decision-makers in the world. It will help shape global priorities for nature conservation and climate change for the coming decade and beyond.

The IUCN Congress 2025 will take place 9–15 October in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, under the slogan Powering transformative conservation. Held every four years, the IUCN World Conservation Congress brings together world leaders and representatives from governments, science, academia, Indigenous peoples’ groups, non-governmental organisations, regional and local authorities and businesses to help address the world’s most pressing environmental and sustainability challenges.

The IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025 will address the following five themes:

• Scaling Up Resilient Conservation Action
• Reducing Climate Overshoot Risks
• Delivering on Equity
• Transitioning to Nature-Positive Economies and Societies
• Disruptive Innovation and Leadership for Conservation

These themes emphasise the need to accelerate the implementation of the global biodiversity framework, to climate-proof conservation solutions, and to combine ancestral Indigenous knowledge with cutting-edge innovation at all levels, from local to global. They also stress the importance of including all voices, from Indigenous peoples to civil society to rangers, shift to nature-positive economies globally, and empower the next generation of leaders.

World Biodiversity Summit is returning for its 5th edition on 25 September 2025 on the sidelines of Climate Week NYC.

Last year, the programme pioneered global public-private partnerships to address the urgent need for biodiversity restoration through nature-based solutions and nature-positive investments, bridging the climate and biodiversity agendas. 

To foster harmony with nature and effectively enact the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, last year’s summit took stock of the implementation of its target and explored the synergies between climate and biodiversity, fostering cross-agenda collaboration and actionable implementation strategies.

World Biodiversity Summit engages businesses, governments, civil society and financial institutions to bolster support for nature and mitigate climate and biodiversity risks while amplifying business opportunities on a larger scale. 

Climate Week NYC is the largest annual climate event of its kind, bringing together over 900 events and activities across the City of New York – in person, hybrid and online. Each year, business leaders, political change makers, local decision takers and civil society representatives of all ages and backgrounds, from all over the world, gather to drive the transition, speed up progress, and champion change that is already happening.
