Forests, food and land can deliver 30% of solutions needed to tackle climate crisis by 2030
News 11.06.18
As part of the Global Climate Action Summit, WWF, together with a coalition of partners, issued the 30X30 Food, Forests and Land Challenge, calling on businesses, states, city and local governments, and global citizens to unite and take action to deliver up to 30% of the climate solutions needed by 2030.
Land use is very often about local action, whether it is decisions about protecting forests, improving soil health, or making sure that a particular supplier is farming the right way far along the supply chain. There is a huge amount going on around the world, but often action on land use is not known and does not get the praise it merits. The Global Climate Action Summit represents a tremendous opportunity for businesses, civil society, and regional and local governments to show that they stand united to make land use a priority in climate action, alongside action on energy, transportation, and industry.
